Barcelona since the departure of old legend Xavi and the arrival of the German boss Hansi Flick have been in the buzz with their probable transfer targets in the summer window. Their full focus has been on La Roja fame Nico Williams, who emerged as Europe’s most desired transfer this summer.

Barcelona have been trying to include the rising winger for many days now, but recently he showed his interest in staying with the Basque country.

However, Barcelona have also put forward a stern deadline in front of the player, not signing him after the period. Any decision though is yet awaited from his end, and hence this has stalled Barca’s any further moves in the summer window.

Recently, FC Barcelona legend and one of the world’s greatest players in the game, Lionel Messi, expressed his preferable choice of having Argentine forward Julian Alvarez move from Manchester City to Camp Nou, as he believes that the Manchester City forward will be suitable for the club’s needs as compared to transfer targets Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.

However, now Neal Gardener, the football pundit, has now announced that Newcastle’s left-wing in command, English youngster, Anthony Gordon, should be looked after by Laporta and co. as a backup if they suffer a Nico blow.

The 23-year-old has had impressive stats, featuring in all competitions for Newcastle; he has scored on 11 occasions and aided to 10 assists with 16 big chances. Gordon can be Barcelona’s longtime player if he is picked and harvested over a period of time under the Catalan club.

If Barca enter the race for the winger, it will be keen to watch as Liverpool have been in the move over a long period of time, and this move will emerge as one of the biggest hot topics of the summer window if this happens, as Barca are to make their first transfer of the summer.
