Indian keeper-batter KL Rahul is now playing an ODI series with the Indian side visiting the Lankan islands. The previous IPL’s LSG skipper got married to Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty in a grand wedding last year, and the couple has been in the buzz for the amount of generous work they take the initiative for.
This time around as well, Athiya took to his Instagram handle and announced the unique auction of cricket accessories they will hold on the 23rd of August in Mumbai. This unique initiative is taken to fund the Vipla Foundation, which takes the initiative to educate and make the lives of poor and deprived children better.
The auction has been named ‘Cricket for a Cause.’ The power couple of Indian cricket will look to empower a foundation that takes initiatives for children’s betterment and women’s education to save them from social evils.
The auction will feature 27 cricket collectables, with gloves, helmets, jerseys, bats, and many more from several Indian as well as international cricket icons. Several famous sports personalities, with the likes of Kohli, Rohit, Dravid, Dhoni, Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Bumrah, Chahal, Ashwin, Rahul himself, and the likes of international greats, QDK, Jos Buttler, and Nicky P, will participate in the auction with one or the other accessory that is very close to their hearts.
Ranging from highly-priced bats of veteran cricketers MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, and Rohit Sharma at INR 3.5 lakhs, Kohli will have his gloves auctioned at 50k as well. While Jasprit Bumrah’s and KL Rahul’s jerseys will be auctioned for nearly $1,50,000 jointly, and even the helmets of Rahul will be put to show.
Reports do not suggest what will be brought to auction by the legendary international players; still, it is confirmed that all of these men will contribute something or another to the auction, which will support the foundation for such a noble cause.
