Often considered to be the greatest of clubs, are La Liga giants? Barcelona and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-German have a great legacy and years of rivalry. However, this time these two giants step into the race of signing a commonly interested player.

With Mbappe parting from his longtime club PSG this transfer season for his move to Spanish champions Real Madrid, the champions of France can be the top contender for any big transfer.

This is now an open secret that the new Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick, has been keen on signing German right winger Joshua Kimmich. Flick has known the player for quite some time, and even Kimmich is well-adapted to his playing style, having played under him both at Bayern Munich and Germany.

The German wing-back has been a terrific player in the position and will be in the years to come, and with his Bayern Munich contract ending in 2025, he is likely to make a move ahead in his career. Equally keen are several Premier League clubs, of whom Manchester City seems to be the most determined attempters, with Pep Guardiola being an admirer of the 29-year-old German defender.

Impressed with Kimmich’s versatility and prowess to play at several positions on the meadow, PSG manager Luis Enrique went into the race for the German with full intent, as he looks to bring him from Bayern to the French capital next summer.

With several concerns like Kimmich’s wages, Barca and Flick were already concerned; now the intervention of a team like PSG with a hefty purse only adds to their concern. Hence, Barcelona must act swiftly to sign the German great, as Kimmich looks to leave the Allianz Arena, and PSG try to reach an agreement with the player before taking things ahead with the German club.
