Hey Pat! Revenge for 2023- Pat Cummins brutally trolled by a fan after India thrashed Australia in Super 8 clash

A fan trolled Pat Cummins after Australia suffered a defeat against India in St. Lucia. Australia entered the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 as one of the top favourites to win the tournament. But the tournament didn’t go well for them, as they suffered a Sper 8 exit after facing consecutive defeats against Afghanistan and India. The Men in Yellow started the tournament brilliantly.

They won all their group matches and also beat the defending champion, England. Then they thumped Bangladesh in their first game against Bangladesh in the Super 8. Australia were favourites to win their second Super 8 game but suffered an unexpected defeat against Afghanistan, which put them in a must-win situation ahead of the game against India. But then, they couldn’t win the game against India and were eliminated from the tournament.

T20 World Cup 2024: Fan sledged Pat Cummins after India thumped Australia in Super 8

It wasn’t a great day for Australia, as they had in mind to win three ICC events across three formats. But after losing to India, they got knocked out. That has certainly come as a delight to the Indian fans, who were heartbroken on November 19, 2023, when Australia beat India in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. Notably, Pat Cummins said ahead of the final that they would silence the Indian crowd.

Australia won the final, and India lost yet another final. A few months ago, India also lost against Australia in the final of the World Test Championship. Hence, after the end of the IND vs AUS Super 8 clash on Monday, when Pat Cummins was going back to the dugout, he was sledged by an Indian fan. A video is circulating on social media, where he was heard saying, “Hey Pat! That’s for 2023, that’s a revenge for 2023, remember Ahmedabad? And you going home tomorrow.”

Speaking of the game, Australia won the toss and put India to bat first. India lost Virat Kohli (0) early, but the captain, Rohit Sharma, was in blistering mode. He smashed a 19-ball fifty and made 92 runs off 41 balls, with 8 sixes and 7 fours. India posted a massive score of 205/5. In reply, Travis Head scored 76 runs off 43 balls but didn’t get much support. Australia managed 181/7, and India won the game by 24 runs, putting Australia on the verge of elimination from the T20 World Cup 2024. Pat Cummins was unbeaten on 11 off 7 at the end.
