He expressed his enjoyment of playing in the Indian Premier League and mentioned the achievements of the two great teams, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Rayudu stated that the final match of Tata IPL 2023 would be his last match in the IPL and thanked everyone for their support. However, he emphasized that he would not turn back on his decision.
Rayudu started his IPL journey in 2010 with Mumbai Indians and won his first IPL title in 2013 as a part of the Mumbai Indians Franchise. He carried forward his success by winning two more titles in 2015 and 2017. In 2018, Mumbai Indians released Rayudu; later, CSK bought him at a low price, and his performance for CSK was phenomenal, he helped CSK to lift the third IPL trophy.
Rayudu is ready to play his last match in the IPL for CSK against GT in the final of IPL 2023 at Narendra Modi Stadium. This final gave an opportunity for Rayudu to win his sixth IPL Trophy, while CSK hoped to secure their fifth IPL title and Equalise the record of the Mumbai Indians of most IPL titles won by any team.
This season, Rayudu played 15 matches in which he scored 139 runs at a strike rate of 132.38. His all-time best season in the tournament came in 2018 when he scored 602 runs in 16 matches with a strike rate of 149.75, at an average of 43.23, and helped CSK to lift the IPL title in his debut season for the Chennai Super Kings franchise after playing seven seasons for Mumbai Indians.
