Lalremsiami Hmar, the skillful playmaker from the Indian Women’s Hockey Team has been offered a job in the Mizoram Government. The job is related to her sport and her hard work has definitely paid off as now she has a fixed paycheque!! The position is of the chief coach for the hockey team of Mizoram. Olympic returned Lalremsiami was a key player in helping the team reaching the 4th position. Lalrem is one of the real-life, “Chak De” girls. Here are a few points about Lalrem: –
About the job: –
The Mizoram Government on the 19th of August announced that Lalremsiami will be offered a “Group-A” job in the government sports services. The job offered to her is the chief coach. She is the first female Mizo athlete to take part in the Olympics. She played a crucial role in reviving Women’s Hockey. As the team finished 4th which is just shy of a podium finish, the glory of hockey was eventually restored. This was what the honored CM of Mizoram had to say on Twitter,
“Proud to announce that Govt. of Mizoram has approved the appointment of Ms. Lalremsiami, National Hockey Player and the only Olympian from #Mizoram at the Tokyo Olympic 2020 to the post of Chief Coach (Hockey) Group-A post under Sports & Youth Services Department. @Lalremsiami30”

The job offered to Lalrem was just one of the many accolades showered on her. Previously the Mizoram Government had announced for her a prize of 25 lakh Indian Rupees. Of the 25, 10 lakhs were handed to her mother on the 24th of June. Apart from this, she has been awarded a plot of land. The plot measures 691.85 sqft and it is in her hometown Kolasib. Lalrem will arrive in Aizawl today and the appointment letter and 15 lakh rupees will be handed over to her in a warm ceremony. The ceremony will take place at Vanapa hall in Aizawl.
