“Virat Kohli inspires me a lot,” said Paralympian gold medalist Nitesh Kumar after his gold medal win

India has had their most amazing run at the Paralympics as Nitesh Kumar went on to secure a gold medal in the men’s single badminton event as the silver medalist from Tokyo now emerged as the gold medalist. This was India’s second gold medal this season after Avani earned it in rifle shooting.

The Paralympian defeated Great Britain’s Bethell to earn his maiden gold for the nation. Now the Team India mixed archery team has entered the semi-final after hitting a proper 40 in the quarterfinal. The resume for archery and badminton will be from 9:40 pm.

However, after the event win with a gold medal, he was questioned in an interview, while RevSportz reported having heard him say his biggest inspiration was Indian star cricketer Virat Kohli.


He stated, “Virat Kohli inspires me a lot—the way he plays on the field, he motivates me a lot.” Virat’s high stamina and his compassion on the field have made him an inspiration for many in the nation.

The talented cricketer has not only inspired a fraternity of cricketers but also they have inspired several sportsmen around the nation in probably every sport that is played in the country. Previously, many Olympic medalists have said the same, while as of now even the Paralympian has lauded him as a fine inspiration for him as a sportsman.

India now has a contingent of 84 members to the events, with them participating across 12 different disciplines as they are participating in the latest 3 additional events. Of which India already still has 9 medals, of which they have won 2 gold, while many more, like 5 players in the single event of badminton, can be seen competing for medals.
