The Dutch boss, Ronald Koeman, while addressing the press recently, took a dig at the Barcelona officials and their controversial decisions. Once a pioneer figure at Camp Nou, Koeman suggested he would like to return to Barcelona again.

Koeman, now in a managerial role for the Oranje, led them to the Euro semi-finals before falling behind by a goal to Suothgate’s English side. He evolved Dutch football and showed his excellence with several tactical decisions on the field.

However, under Joan Laporta being the club president, there is no chance that Koeman would make a return, as it was during the tenure of the same chief that Koeman was dismissed from his role as Barca manager back in 2021.

The club’s great also said that he wants to return to Barcelona, but not in a managerial role, as he would rather be back to improve the players’ technique at Camp Nou.

While speaking to the press, Ronald Koeman suggested that for Barca and Laporta to get better results off the side, they needed to provide their club legends with the desired respect. Koeman added that their recent worries have been the result of club legends Lionel Messi, Xavi, and he leaving Camp Nou.

“I have a dream to return to Barcelona, but it won’t be as a coach. I want to help players improve their technique. Barca’s problem in recent years has been that people like Lionel Messi, Xavi, and me have left. It is better to respect the club’s legends. That is more important than competing for players like Nico Williams,”

Koeman, on his side, said that to improve Barca’s chances, they need to improvise well with their given talents rather than include new and sporadic players like Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, the two Spaniards whom they seem to be in the hunt for.

FC Barcelona will go on to feature against arch-rivals Real Madrid, Manchester City, and AC Milan in club friendlies, which are to start on the 31st in the United States.
