IPL 2025: IPL has been a common platform for players around the globe, as many legends have previously featured for different franchises in the Indian Premier League. Among many such players who have excelled in the IPL, one such name that has emerged in the meantime has been Aussie rising talent, Cameron Green.

The West Australian has risen to prominence as he has now emerged as one of Australia’s most legendary players in the role of an all-rounder. Leaving behind the likes of many big Australian players, he has emerged as the future prospect for the role of Australian captain.

Having made his debut in the Indian Premier League, IPL, he first was included in the IPL for the Mumbai Indians for a whopping 17.5 crore INR. He played a significant role in the franchise, as he scored 450+ runs with a maiden IPL century in his debut season, and he also went on to pick valuable wickets with the ball.

The following year he was traded to the Royal Challengers Bangalore in order to acquire Hardik Pandya’s move from the Gujarat Titans to the Mumbai Indians. Though his performance has not been convincing last time around, he will still be a very valuable asset in the mega-auction.

3 franchises targeting Cameron Green as an all-rounder in the IPL mega-auction:

Punjab Kings

The Punjab Kings have faced the early toll of having their veteran skipper Shikhar Dhawan retire from the IPL earlier this year. Also, they do not stand much of a chance to retain their big-budget options in Jonny Bairstow and Sam Curran.

Green can hence be a natural batter at the No. 4 position as he can do with the bat in hand, which he proved efficiently for both Australia as well as did the same while featuring in the Mumbai Indians jersey. Punjab Kings also have suffered with the middle-overs bowling phase, as Rabada, Arshdeep, as well as Harshal Patel, are effective during the opening and ending phases of the game.

Hence, Green can also suit the role of a middle-order bowler, who can bowl effective pace bowling in the middle phase and can sneak in an over or two.

Gujarat Titans

The Champions on debut from 2022, and the finalists in the next season of 2023 as well, faced a significant setback as the Titans parted ways with both their mentor Gary Kirsten and skipper Hardik Pandya as well.

The Titans faced a major crisis in the batting department last time around, as the openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan both dominated as openers but could not manifest anything in the middle order as even the likes of David Miller and Abhinav Manohar failed to perform in any way possible.

The inclusion of a talent like Cam Green can be vital in the middle-order as a batter, while also he can help chase big scores with the amount of big hits he possesses under his belt. Also, Green is a stunning option to credit him as a bowler during the middle phase.

Rajasthan Royals

The Royals have been stunning performers since Sri Lankan veteran Kumara Sangakkara took over as the Royals’ director. The best players in the Royals setup lie in England skipper Jos Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson.

Cameron Green or a player similar to his merit has never been included in the Royals setup since Ben Stokes left the franchise. Stokes played a very vital role in the team, while Green can be an equally efficient batter in the middle order and also in a finishing role.

Green can also end their hunt for a 6th bowler, even if they restore their last few editions set of 5 bowlers, which included a perfect blend of pace and spin, with Chahal being the most possible retention among them.
