Dwayne Bravo, the legendary T20 all-rounder earlier announced that he will retire from the CPL after the season of 2024 ends.
Bravo has played in every CPL season since its inaugural in 2013 and he has had immense contribution to the success of the competition to date in taking it to a position as of now. As of now, he has won 5 CPL trophies and most of his success has been with the TKR he is in the quest to win for the 4th time before retiring.
He is the highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 128 wickets from 103 games, while also making him the highest wicket-taker in the history of the game for the shortest format of the game.
He emerged as the first bowler back in 2020 who struck 500 T20 wickets playing across several global leagues, also he remains to date the World’s highest T20 wicket-taker, though his top position is potently under threat by Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan who has 613 wickets and just 18 wickets behind breaking Bravo all-time record of 630 as of now.

Dwayne Bravo announced his international retirement after he gave up on cricket in 2021, with West Indies exiting from the UAE-held T20 World Cup. He also didn’t take long as he announced his IPL retirement in 2023, and since then has been working with his years-long franchise Chennai Super Kings as their bowling coach.
Bravo was also seen in the T20 World Cup 2024, in the Caribbean as he played a vital role as an advisor and coach for Afghanistan’s race to the semi-finals of the World Cup, for the first time in the history of Afghanistan cricket.
After Bravo moves out from the Caribbean Premier League, he will be seen in the MLC as well as the ILT20 in the USA and UAE respectively. Bravo is yet in contract with the MI Emirates in the ILT20 and will reunite with Pollard and Pooran, while the next season might again see him with the Texas Super Kings in the 3rd season next year. Until then he might only be seen in coaching roles.
