T20 series: The mega competition of the ICC Men’s World Cup has recently ended in India, in which a total of 10 teams including India and other countries participated in the competition.
The Indian team, due to its exceptional performance in all the matches of the group stage, got only victory and entered the semi-finals and finals unbeaten, but the situation of the opposition team was very bad in the first few two to three matches. Five-time winners of the World Cup, won the champion title this year too by defeating India with ease.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed an experienced T20 player as the captain of the team for the five-match T20 series against Australia.
Suryakumar Yadav was appointed captain of the team that will take on Australia in the five-match T20 home series. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna, who joined the World Cup team late, is also a part of the team.
Following the demanding competition and its preparations, the majority of the players participating in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 have taken a break. In the forthcoming T20I series, just three players—Suryakumar, Prasidh, and Ishan Kishan—will compete.
On the other hand, Hardik Pandya, who has led India in recent times, is still in recovery mode after his injury and has not been included in the squad.
The all-rounder injured himself during India’s league stage ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup clash against Bangladesh in Pune.
Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who led India in his comeback T20 series against Ireland, has been rested after a high-intensity World Cup campaign.
Suryakumar has performed exceptionally well in the T20I format, scoring 1841 runs at a strike rate of 172.7 and an average of 46.02. Furthermore, he possesses three T20I centuries.
Axar Patel, who was first included in the World Cup roster but was eventually forced to withdraw due to injury, is also making a comeback in this series.
