The IPL mega-auctions are just 4 days away, as every team gears up to accelerate their preparations for the IPL 2025 mega-auction.

The finalists from the previous edition of the IPL, including champions Kolkata Knight Riders and last-time finalists Sunrisers Hyderabad, have retained some of their core team while they also gear up for an intense battle on the auction table.

KKR have retained the likes of Rinku Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, and the two uncapped options in Ramandeep Singh and Harshit Rana. While they have spent a purse of INR 57 crore, they will retain the amount of 63 crore to bid on the new set of players.

SRH, on the other hand, retained the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, Travis Head, and the only uncapped player Nitish Kumar Reddy. They will enter the mega auction with an INR 45 crore purse.

Top 3 players who might instill a bidding war between the finalists from IPL 2024:

3. Mohammed Shami

Both these two teams, playing in their home grounds in Hyderabad and the Eden Gardens, do not play much on bowling-friendly tracks, yet they multiply the need for some quality quicks into the 11.

SRH released their veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar while KKR parted ways with their most expensive player in Mitchell Starc, their lead pace option.

Shami, who is now fit and is all set to feature in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, will be observed closely by the franchises, as either of these two sides might go all ends loose to acquire the immensely experienced pacer to spearhead their bowling deck.

2. Washington Sundar

Despite the Kolkata Knight Riders already having a big set of quality spin bowlers as well as all-rounders, they were hammered down the order due to the inefficiency of their lower-order batters.

Sundar might be one of the options, for whom SRH might look to use their RTM card, while for the Knight Riders, Sundar can be an additional spinner and also a batter in the middle order.

1. Harry Brook

Kolkata Knight Riders are in search of a middle-order batter, while Brook, the England legend, has been considered the finest option in the world as a middle-order batter.

The Sunrisers look like a very settled side, especially in the batting department, as SRH will still look to acquire the likes of a genuine middle-order batter, who can be an asset to the already best possible batting order in the IPL.
