Indian captain Rohit Sharma has created history by making the record of scoring 1000 runs in 2024: 37-year-old Rohit is currently captaining the Indian team in the first Test match against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, Rohit’s bat did not perform well in this match.
In the first innings, he scored 6 runs in 19 balls, and in the second innings, he was dismissed after scoring just 5 runs in 7 balls on Friday, 20 September.
Even though Rohit could not contribute much with the bat in this match, he achieved an important milestone by crossing the 1000-run mark in the first match of this series.
By scoring 11 runs, Rohit completed his 1000 runs in 2024, making him the oldest Indian captain to score 1000 runs in a calendar year.
As of right now in 2024, Rohit, who is 37 years and 144 days old, has amassed 1001 runs in 21 matches. These consist of 466 runs in 7 Test matches, 378 runs in 11 T20 matches, and 157 runs in 3 ODIs.
